Here, sunflowers stretch taller than lampposts, mushrooms rise like oversized armchairs made for mid-ride daydreams, and rivers ripple into bike paths that weave through endless wildflower meadows, carrying you effortlessly into soft marshmallow clouds.

Traveling Without Moving: The Story Behind Bloomtown & Meadowia

Exploring the world by bike is one of my favorite things to do. The more distant and exotic the destination, the better. But when those far-off places are out of reach, I don’t just lose a trip—I miss out on the rush of design inspiration that comes with new landscapes, unexpected color palettes, and local artistry.

Fortunately, imagination knows no borders. For this collection, I decided to travel inward. I imagined myself as a sort of Alice in Wonderland—but on a bike. To bring this vision to life, I built a miniature world inside a cardboard box, using layers of papercut shapes to create a flowing, tactile landscape. The colors I chose evoked a cozy, vintage vibe, while oversized plants made me feel small in the best way possible—the kind of scale that makes you stop and stare in surprise.

As always, the process was one of constant refinement. I reshaped lines and tweaked colors until two final designs remained. Yet, something was missing; it felt a bit too 'ordinary' for such an imaginary place. I reached out to my friend and graphic designer, Jelena Peeters, for a fresh perspective. She suggested adding intricate prints to the landscapes, giving the world the depth it needed. Suddenly, it clicked. I could finally see myself cycling through these scenes. It reminded me that the ride isn't about conformity—it’s about creativity.

A huge thanks to Jelena for helping me blend the designs, the riders, and the worlds of ‘Bloomtown’ and ‘Meadowia’ into one seamless vision. I hope you'll enjoy this collection. Iris
